A newly single Jennifer Love Hewitt treats herself to some retail therapy on Sunday afternoon (March 14) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 31-year-old actress recently split from her Ghost Whisperer co-star Jamie Kennedy.

“[The break-up] wasn’t contentious,” a source tells People. “It had kind of just run its course … They just sort of looked at each other and said, ‘We like each other and we make each other laugh, but this isn’t for the long-term.’”

The source continued, “She’s working constantly, and Jamie’s working on the show and touring [with his stand-up comedy act]. It just isn’t conducive to a relationship.”

Rumors that 'Ghost Whisperer' co-stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy had split surfaced yesterday. A rep confirmed the rumor to People last night.

No further details are currently available.

I admit, when I first heard they were dating, so soon after Jennifer's engagement ended so abruptly, I thought Jennifer might be on the rebound. Yet Jamie and Jennifer stayed together for so long, I thought they just might go the distance. Sometimes, though, things just don't work out.

And as far as I know, Jamie is still on 'Ghost Whisperer.' Working with an ex is NOT easy; I hope they're able to figure something out.

J. Love now believes thinking positively from the moment she wakes up ensures she has a good day, and she always takes time to boost her confidence.

Jennifer tells the October issue of Shape Magazine: “I fall asleep feeling beautiful. Then, in the morning, before I leave the house, I say five things I love about myself, like, ‘You have really pretty eyes.’ That way I can go out into the world with that little bit of extra confidence. It’s a feel-good protein shake in my back pocket in case someone messes with me that day.”

The 30-year-old star shows off her new and improved bikini bod on the back cover of Shape, while wearing jeans on the front cover.

“For the most part, yeah, I’m happy with my body, but there are days when I’m like, ‘Ugh! Really? Why is it so hard to fit into my jeans?’ That’s when I say to myself, ‘I look this way because I’m supposed to. If we all looked the same, we’d be boring.’”
