Lady Gaga: Monster Cable Crazy

Lady Gaga: Monster Cable Crazy: "Lady Gaga: Monster Cable Crazy

Lady Gaga channels her inner Count Dracula at the Monster Cable party at Tube Station nightclub on Monday (September 7) in Berlin, Germany.

The 23-year-old singer will be performing her hit song “LoveGame!” TODAY (September 8) on the Season 7 premiere of The Ellen Show.

Gaga will also be hitting the stage this Sunday at the 2009 MTV VMAs. Which crazy costume will she wear? She told Newsweek, “I would say that the fashion for the performance is a representation of the most stoic and memorable martyrs of fame in history. It’s intended to be an iconic image that represents people. I think after watching the performance and maybe studying it after you watch it on YouTube, you’ll see the references and the symbols come through.”

Lady Gaga Newsweek Interview: “I Don’t Like Celebrities”

Lady Gaga Newsweek Interview: “I Don’t Like Celebrities”: "

Lady Gaga talks celebrity hate, being compared to Madonna, and bringing the art world to the MTV Video Music Awards in the new issue of Newsweek.

The “Love Game” singer promises that her performance at next weekend’s VMAs in her hometown of New York City will be a moment to remember.

“I know it will,” she told magazine. “I sort of have this philosophy about things: there’s never a reason to do something unless it’s going to be memorable, unless it’s going to change things, unless it’s going to inspire a movement. With the song and with the performance, I hope to say something very grave about fame and the price of it.”

“It’s less of me singing the song, and more of an art installation. A performance-art piece. We’ve been working on it for months and months,” she added.

Gaga knows she owes her success — which has risen since her 2008 debut thanks to the success of hits such as “Pokerface” and “Just Dance” –is due in part to her online fans, who follow her performances from across the world.

“As much as I like to light the [live] show for the room, it’s important to light the show and design the sound for YouTube,” she said. “In truth, lots of my fans can’t make it to my shows in Israel or Germany or in Paris, so they go online to watch them.”

The 23-year-old says she has been waiting to become a celebrity her entire life — although she isn’t crazy about A-listers.

“I think I was in my mother’s womb, but it’s not about fame, you see. It’s about ‘The Fame.’ It’s about a life of glamour. I believe in a glamorous life.”

Lady Gaga Explains Preferring “Inner Confidence” To Hollywood Stars: “I myself don’t like celebrities,” she said. “I just haven’t had an excellent personal experience with celebrities. But I’m sure there are a few lovely ones. I have made a few friends, of course.”

Lady Gaga On Working With Michael Bolton: “I love Michael Bolton, and I always have,” she said. “It was an exciting opportunity to work with someone as timeless as Michael and do a ballad. Do something that I’m really good at that I don’t get to show very much.”

On Madonna: “We have exchanged messages [through] mutual people that we know. She is very kind to me and supportive. I appreciate her support very much.”

On Showing Off Her Softer Side: “I will be showing [it] on the re-release [of ‘The Fame’], which is coming out this fall.”
